The Challenge:

At ABC Suites, project management was becoming increasingly fragmented. Stu Pendous, the Operations & Project Manager, had tried multiple tools in the past—but each came with its own complexity, requiring separate reports, manual updates, and constant chasing for progress. Objectives and actions were scattered across emails, spreadsheets, and standalone platforms, making it difficult to track delivery or hold meaningful project meetings.


There was no centralised dashboard to view project progress, no automated link between individual contributions and overall delivery, and no integrated timesheet system to capture billable hours. Quality assurance was also suffering, with no structured way to log project-specific risks or site activity. Stu needed a solution that could consolidate everything—objectives, actions, timesheets, risks, and site diaries—into one intuitive, live view.


How ABC Suites uses epic:

By implementing Epic’s Project Management feature, ABC Suites gained a streamlined, cascading view of every project—linking Objectives and Actions directly to their respective initiatives. Stu no longer needed to chase updates or build separate reports; as individuals updated their progress, it automatically fed into the live Project Report, forming the agenda for weekly stand-ups and leadership reviews.


Each project could be expanded to show aligned objectives, and further expanded to reveal the actions beneath—creating a clear three-tier structure: Projects → Objectives → Actions. This gave every team member line of sight into how their work contributed to delivery, boosting engagement and accountability.



 



Site Diary:

Epic’s integrated Timesheet solution replaced error-prone spreadsheets, allowing staff to log billable and non-billable hours per project with automated weekly reporting. The Quality Manager was thrilled to see a customised Risk Register per project, and site engineers like Mia could log daily activity using the Site Diary—capturing weather, labour, plant hire, and progress in real time.
